DEVELOPMENT OF RAILS FROM CONTINUOUSLY CAST BLOOMS

Continuous casting of blooms provides a more reliable method of meeting the quality standards for railway rails. Comparisons are made mainly with conventional practice employing direct teemed, open topped balanced ingots, and references are also made to fully killed ingot practices.
