PROPERTIES OF AN INDUCTION TRACTION MOTOR SUPPLIED FROM AN INVERTER

VLASTNOSTI ASYNCHRONNIHO TRAKENIHO MOTORU NAPAJENEHO ZE STRIDACE

An induction traction motor supplied from a voltage inverter in a three phase and five phase arrangement and supplied from a current inverter is discussed. The magnitudes of the components of losses and their dependence on the operating conditions are analyzed, and the advantages of a current inverter are pointed out. The calculated dependences show the existence of maximum efficiency and power output by a saturation markedly higher than is usual. A list of principal advantages and disadvantages of the use of an induction traction motor supplied from a current inverter is included.
