PROGRESSIVE SIGNAL SYSTEM IN NETWORK OF ARTERIAL STREETS USING "TRASOM"
The "TRASOM" system described optimizes traffic flow through a network of arterial streets based on actual intersection demand and traffic handling capacity of roadways. The data requirements are reasonable compared to existing network optimization models and consideration of the speed volume function for all critical locations in a network increases the probability of success of its output timing plans when implemented in the field.
