CONTROL OF TRAFFIC FLOWS ON CANADIAN RURAL ROADS AND METHODS OF MEASURING LEVELS OF SERVICES
Several methods of controlling traffic flows that are employed including radio communications, road patrols, high standards of winter maintenance, well-identified roads through construction sites, adjustments to traffic control signal timing and phasing, remote-controlled overhead message signs and restrictions on trucking at certain peak periods are outlined.
