A CALCULATION METHOD FOR THE HEAVE AND PITCH MOTIONS OF A HYDROFOIL BOAT IN WAVES
The derived equations of motion and the solution method used appear to give a reliable prediction of the motion of a hydrofoil craft with a dihedral foil fore and a flat foil aft in regular sinusoidal waves. Compared with the usually used description in the frequency domain, as used by Kaplan and Ogilvie, the results especially for following waves are considerably better. The linearisation of the equations of motion is not advisable.
