DEVELOPMENT OF A DETACHABLE ELECTRIC TAIL LAMP FOR THE WEST GERMAN RAILROAD SYSTEM
ENTWICKLUNG EINES ABNEHMBAREN ELEKTRISCHEN ZUGSCHLUSSIGNALES FUER DIE DEUTSCHE BUNDESBAHN (DB)
The West German railroad authorities intend, in the foreseeable future, to replace detachable kerosene tail lamps for trains by an electric tail lamp. At present, the design details are defined by the railroad authorities on the basis of the UIC-leaflet 452 E. Different light systems are tested with regard to their qualification. A one-year operational test with an advanced series is to facilitate the selection of the optimal light system.
