PRODUCT LIABILITY: HELP MAY BE ON THE WAY
Product liability, the concept under which a claim that a company's product was dangerous or defective can open the door to claims and lawsuits which threaten profitability and even survival of a company, was the subject of a 1979 seminar. Discussed were the legal aspects, the effect of strict liability on railroad suppliers, the cost of protection, and methods for reducing exposure. Legislation is pending on product liability which could give some relief from disastrous losses.
