ADHESION, STATIC AND DYNAMIC ASPECT

L'ADHESIVITE, ASPECT STATIGUE ET DYNAMIQUE

The author considers mainly the kinetic aspect of adhesion. Details are given of the conditions governing wetting or unwetting from the static point of view, e.g. the influence of the binder surface tension and viscosity. However, real phenomena are dynamic, and it is necessary to consider the tension as a value depending on the relative movements of the liquid phase in relation to the solid one. The displacement rate is taken into account together with the roughness of the aggregates in an attempt to forecast stripping and especially the speed at which it can occur for different mineralogical natures off the aggregate. /TRRL/ covering abstract of the whole number, see IRRD abstract no 107043.
