PRESTRESSED BRIDGES AT THE FIP CONGRESS, LONDON, 1978
LOS PUENTES PRETENSADOS EN EL ULTIMO CONGRESO DE LA FIP (LONDRES, 1978)
This article regroups the more interesting aspects of bridge construction in the world, which were presented at the FIP congress held in London in 1978. The most novel aspect discussed is the rapid evolution of bow-strings bridges in case of prestressed lintels. Attention is drawn to the standardization of construction techniques in different countries, especially in the case of large spans. Details are given of the structural characteristics of the various bridges described at the congress. (TRRL)
