STUDY OF THE RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF STRUCTURAL TYPES OF BITUMEN UNDER STATIC OR DYNAMIC DEFORMATION
ETUDE DES PROPRIETES RHEOLOGIQUES DES TYPES STRUCTURAUX DE BITUME SOUS DEFORMATION STATIQUE OU DYNAMIQUE
The author defines the basic operational characteristics of the structural rheology developed by Mr. Rebinder, shows their significance for each of the three types of bitumen, determines the limits of their rheological states from dynamic tests, and calculates the activation energy corresponding to each state. This method applied to mixtures of bitumen and polymers enables the structure and the limits of the rheological states of these compounds to be defined, thus leading to a definition of behavioural laws and to the establishment of optimum mix-design formulae.
