SAVING OF ENERGY IN TRAFFIC ENGINEERING. RESULTS OF A CONFERENCE OF THE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY FEDERATION
EINSPAREN VON ENERGIE IM VERKEHRSWESEN. ERGEBNISSE EINES KOLLOQUIUMS DES VERBANDES DER AUTOMOBILINDUSTRIE
As it is a comparatively minor user of energy (in 1977 only 20% of the energy consumption), the traffic sector can only make a very limited contribution to energy saving. This report lists three important points of departure and discusses the pros and cons: (1) reduction in vehicle mileage; (2) transfer of traffic to traffic modes with low energy consumption; (3) reduction in specific energy consumption.
