STATISTICAL ESTIMATION OF REDUCTION COEFFICIENT OF SHIP'S HULL PLATES WITH INITIAL DEFLECTIONS
The reduction coefficient of ships hull plates with initial deflections is studied as a stochastic quantity due to stochastic character of the deflections for the ship "as built". The problem is reduced to an investigation of ultimate carrying capacity of simply supported "semi-plate" with initial deflection. Then, using statistical data for initial deflections, the probability density function of the reduction coefficient is derived.
