PARTIAL LOAD OPERATION OF MARINE DIESEL ENGINES

The article discusses how diesel engines may be adapted to slow steaming with the aim to retain low specific fuel consumption and to avoid corrosion, smoke and fouling. The major problem is matching turbocharger output with the fuel injectors. Example is given of an engine where one out of three turbochargers was blanked off. Order from NSFI as No. 19060.
