NEW METHOD OF STUDYING SOIL CONSOLIDATION

NOWA METODA BADAN KONSOLIDACJI GRUNTOW

The author outlines the theoretical basis of a new consolidation test method which takes account of the viscous properties of the soil. Details are given of the equipment developed and of results obtained for various types of soil. These results concern stress-strain curves, consolidation coefficient, oedometer modulus maximum preconsolidation stress and some rheological characteristics. (TRRL)
