HOMOGENIZATION OF THE FINISHED PRODUCT AT THE CEMENT PLANT IN PARGAS

HOMOGENISIERUNG DES FERTTIGPRODUKTS IM ZEMENTWERK PARGAS

A cement storage silo in Pargas was equipped with a special homogenizer device which does not reduce the storage capacity of the silo that stores 10000 t. The design and operation of the device are described. With the help of tracers it was shown that the material in the silo flows towards the bottom and the centre at increasing speed. Transient variations in cement quality can be compensated: deviations at the exit are not more than 10% of the variations at entry point. The use of this homogenizer gives security against losses of clinker and temporary reduction in the quality of the cement dispatched. (TRRL)
