GRAVIPEC. A NEW APPARATUS FOR EVALUATING THE PROPORTION OF MINERAL PHASES

LE GRAVIPEC - UN NOUVEL APPAREIL POUR LE DOSAGE DE PHASES MINERALES

Gravipec is an isothermal thermogravimetry bench with predetermined temperatures (1100 deg C maximum). The control device ensures a rapid stabilization of the desired temperature. It can operate in different environments: inert, oxidizing, steam. It has wide uses, analyses being made either by simple weighing of the sample heated to difperent temperatures or by entrapping the gases emitted by thermolysis (water and carbon dioxide) on specific absorbants. For example, it is possible to determine fire losses in a controlled environment, the proportioning of hydrated lime and hydrated magnesium in cement and lime, proportioning of the total amount of carbon monoxide of rocks or soils, proportioning of organic carbon in the mineral substratum or mud of sewage purification plants.
