CONSOLIDATION OF CLAY WITH "GEODRAINS"

KONSOLIDACJA ILU Z ZASTOSOWANIEM GEODRENOW

The author explains how "geodrains" operate. Geodrains consist of woven strips placed in the soil to accelerate its consolidation. The effectiveness of geodrains is comparable to that of sand piles having a cross-section a hundred times larger. To determine the factors which affect the rate of consolidation, the horizontal soil layers with the highest degree of permeability must be found. (TRRL)
