DETERMINATION OF THE MECHANICAL STRENGTH CHARACTERISTICS OF CLAY SOILS FROM THE RESULTS OF STATIC PENETROMETER TESTS

Results are presented of a study of the correlation between the cohesion and the angle of internal friction, measured on a shear box (202 tests in the laboratory), on the one hand, and on the other hand, the end bearing resistance obtained on site, less than 5 M from the borings used for taking samples for laboratory tests.
