AN AREA CRASH ANALYSIS OF CONTROLLED INTERSECTION SYSTEMS

A study of crash data for a suburban area of Sydney supports the belief that, provided that the controls applied at each intersection are appropriate for conditions at the intersection, the establishment of "controlled intersection systems" (priority roads) can reduce the overall frequency of those accidents which result in a casualty or a vehicle being towed from the site.
