ROAD TRAFFIC. A DESCRIPTION USING MODELS

CIRCULACION VIARIA. DESCRIPCION MEDIANTE MODELOS

The delays experienced by vehicles in their journeys are no more than an evidence of the existence of traffic composed of all the vehicles running on the same road, and of the impedance this causes, which is a negative aspect of the mobility factor. The desire to reduce such effect requires a deeper study of road traffic. This article is an effort to state in a progressive manner the various concept elaborations which have been applied to the subject of traffic over recent years with stress on the lines of thought with a common affinity and their results. Great emphasis is placed on the starting assumptions and the designing of the specific models.
