MOUNTAIN ROADS
CAMINOS DE MONTANA
Roads crossing valleys or mountain areas are mainly affected by snow problems. After analysing the problems originated by wintry weather and studying snow movements, this work establishes the basic principles to be taken into account when drawing up preliminary designs for mountain roads. Standards are proposed for the layout and cross sections of such roads, taking into consideration road safety and construction and maintenance costs. (TRRL)
