HOURLY COSTS OF EQUIPMENT
COSTOS HORARIOS DE MAQUINARIA
Conventional methods of determining the hourly cost of equipment in heavy construction were determined when the economy was relatively stable. Recent economic changes, both gradual and rapid, have necessitated changes in methods of calculating prices of construction in general and equipment in particular. This paper proposes new criteria and a method to determine scheduling and depreciation of equipment, subject to adjustment according to economic calculation for the years 1957 and 1979 of the economic life of a particular piece of machinery in Mexico. The author stresses the importance of not using published economic life figures for equipment in other countries with different working systems and economic conditons, because such conditions have probably already changed.
