This catalogue describes and analyzes a number of urban interchanges built in France. Its aim is to give quantitative and qualitative information at the design stage. The interchanges described were selected among fairly conventional structures, the principles on which their design is built being able to be transposed with necessary care to other cases. The critical analysis of each interchange deals with the following aspects: site integration, traffic operations and flow, safety. Each sheet gives the location plan at the 1/100000 scale and an aerial photograph at the 1/4000 scale, the history of the interchange, an origin-destination matrix for evening peak hour traffic, a plan of the interchange at 1/2000 scale, localization of personal injury accidents recorded on the interchange, a table summarizing the main characteristics of the interchange (traffic, surface), and general comments on the critical analysis.
