TAMING TRAFFIC

The author suggests ways in which town planners can tackle needs for environmental area, how the bus system could be made more reliable, means for limiting the cars within town centres and measures for setting up joint delivery services to reduce the numbers of lorries going through towns. He provides detailed ideas for redesigning cars, outlines the priorities for pedestrian or car drives, etc. He insists that the squalor of 20th century traffic is as unnecessary as that of 19th century slums and with rational argument and detailed analysis he proves his point.
