RIGID PIPE PROOF TESTING UNDER EXCESS OVERFILLS WITH VARYING BACKFILL PARAMETERS: SECTION V (VOLUME 3)--ASSUMED DISTRIBUTION OF NORMAL TRACTIONS REQUIRED FOR STATIC EQUILIBRIUM

Normal tractions measured by Carlson Soil Stressmeters and Cambridge Contact Stressmeters at the outer periphery of the Cross Canyon, reinforced concrete culvert have been suitably modified to produce static equilibrium in a horizontal direction after static equilibrium in vertical and rotational directions had been established by means of synthesized tangential tractions. These modified normal tractions are presented herein for eight instrumented zones in the pipe in profile form. (FHWA)
