ACCIDENT INJURIES ASSOCIATED WITH CHANGES IN THE TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT OF VEHICLES
VERKEHRSUNFALLVERLETZUNGEN IM WANDEL DER TECHNISCHEN KRAFTFAHRZEUGENTWICKLUNG
A historical survey is made of road accident injuries from the thirties to the present day. Details are given of improvements made in and outside vehicles as a result of these injuries. To indicate the steady increase in the degree of severity and number of injuries, comparative statistics are given for the period 1955-1975; these show that mortality following severe injuries has remained approximately the same at just under 5 percent, despite medical progress over these years.
