HYDRODYNAMIC COEFFICIENTS OF RECTANGULAR BARGES IN SHALLOW WATER
Forced oscillation tests in vertical and horizontal direction have been carried out with a 2 m model of a rectangular offshore pontoon and a cutter dredge pontoon in shallow water. Scale ratio 1:32.5. The water depths were 4.5, 1.75 and 1.2 times the draught of the model. the frequency ranged from 0.2 Hz up to 2.0Hz. All experimental results are presented in figures to show the influence of water depth, amplitude and frequency on added mass and damping. Order from NSFI as No. 19507.
