ESSENTIAL MOTOR CAR TRAFFIC - AN EVALUATION
ESSENTIEEL AUTOVERKEER - EEN EVALUATIE
In deciding which motor car categories are essential for the preservation of the promotion of certain activities in an urban area, the urban functions are inventorized. Thus an insight is obtained into the volume of generated traffic. Mobility behaviour gives an insight into modal choice. Both elements should be weighted in such a way that an optimisation of transport takes place, from the point of view of the community as well as from the point of view of the individual. It seems impossible to make a formula which holds good universally. Towns differ too much. For each town a definition of essential motor car traffic must be formulated. (TRRL)
