APPENDIX: COOK INLET COAL. ECONOMICS OF MINING AND MARINE SLURRY TRANSPORT

This report estimates the costs of mining coal at Cook Inlet, Alsaka, pumping it as a slurry to a loading terminal, transporting it by ship some, 1,400 miles to the Continental United States, and there unloading the slurry and dewatering it for use. Various coal consumption rates and ships having capabilities of 70,000, 79,000, and 100,000 dwt are considered.
