HAZCHEM CODINGS ALLOCATED BY THE JOINT COMMITTEE ON FIRE BRIGADE OPERATIONS AND CONFIRMED BY THE HEALTH AND SAFETY EXECUTIVE
This list of codings, for the marking of tank vehicles conveying hazardous substances by road and rail, is issued as a companion to the Chemical Industries Association publications Hazard Identification and UN numbers - United Nation substance identification numbers for the transport of dangerous goods. The codings are allocated by the Joint Committee on Fire Brigade Operations and confirmed by the Health and Safety Executive. The substances are listed in alphabetical order, with their corresponding UN numbers and Hazchem code. The condition and concentration of the substance is given, together with a description or UN class. The tables include Kemler numbers, Trem-card volume and numbers where applicable. (TRRL)
