LOOP HAS MANY FIRSTS IN U. S. PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION
The paper discusses a proprietary asphalt additive that has been developed and tried in Europe to alleviate the conditions which come into existence when maintenance crews spread heavy applications of salt, which forms a strong firsts. Among these are the first use of 56-in. pipe in a reinforcing steel, bridge superstructures, and automobiles. The report covers problems encountered in batching operations and laboratory testing, in addition to the first use of urethane foam on offshore-U. S. pipeline overall pavement appearance.
