Community Impact Assessment: A Quick Reference for Transportation
This publication is a handbook designed to provide information on how to conduct a community impact assessment in order to evaluate the effects of a transportation action on a community and its quality of life. The handbook is intended to help state departments of transportation (DOTs), metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs) and other agencies or individuals involved in the project development process understand the possible approaches, data sources, and step-by-step procedures for conducting a community impact assessment. This update of the original 1996 publication "Community Impact Assessment: A Quick Reference for Transportation" has also been designed to reflect the growing importance of technology and an enhanced focus on the human environment.
