Other factors discussed are-choice of system; division of responsibility between owner, shipbuilder and supplier; installation requirements on shipboard; commissioning techniques at the fitting-out berth and on sea trials; maintenance by the supplier after delivery; repair facilities; training of ships officers; and effects of improved instrumentation on surveys.
