STUDY OF THE PENETRATION OF DIRECT INFORMATION TO MOTOR CYCLE OWNERS

PENETRATIONSSTUDIE AV DIREKTINFORMATION TILL MOTORCYKELAEGARE

After the distribution by the National Road Safety Office of a brochure to all motor cycle owners in Sweden, an investigation was carried out to find to what extent the information given had been absorbed by the target group. It appeared that most had read the brochure. The information relating to (1) the importance of the interaction between motor cycles and other vehicles, (2) the need to have dipped headlights on all the time in order to be seen more easily, and (3) the availability of new smaller number plates, appeared to have been well digested, while that concerning insurance had been difficult to understand. Members of motor cycle organisations appeared to have absorbed the information better. Most considered that the information given was useful. (TRRL)
