CODE-MODELE CEB-FIP POUR LES STRUCTURES EN BETON

This document is part of a wide "international standardized system of technical regulations for civil engineering" established by international technical associations working in close cooperation. It comprises the first two volumes: (1) "standardized rules common to different types of structure and material", and (2) "ceb-fip standard code for concrete structures". The following volumes are in preparation. Volume 1 defines a common basis for the setting up of a design, analysis and construction code for buildings and civil engineering structures, with a view to ensuring their safety and aptitude to service whatever the materials or construction method used. Volume 2 is applicable to reinforced or/and prestressed concrete structures, the aggregates of which are normal and lightweight belonging to category 1 or 2 of the rilem classification. These specifications can be used to design structures exposed to special conditions (earthquakes, temperatures different from normal temperatures). Their aim is to facilitate the construction of safe structures and to establish required conditions of use and durability. Design criteria governing safety and conditions of use are based on limit-state. The general design method is a semi-probabilistic method. It is divided into 3 parts as follows: (1) general design data; (2) structural design and constructional arrangements; (3) construction and maintenance. Appendices give information on experimental design, resistance to fire, concrete technology, time-related behaviour of concrete. (TRRL)
