End-to-End Quality of Service in 5G Networks: Examining the Effectiveness of a Network Slicing Framework

With software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) technologies, network slicing is a promising solution for resource orchestration to achieve quality-of-service (QoS) isolation in customized services in fifth-generation (5G) networks. In this article, the authors propose a comprehensive network slicing framework for end-to-end (E2E) QoS provisioning, with differentiated resource types in both wireless and wired network domains considered.
