Full-Duplex Communications: Performance in Ultradense mm-Wave Small-Cell Wireless Networks
Full-duplex (FD) communications can double the spectral efficiency (SE) of a wireless link if self-interference (SI) is completely eliminated. Recent developments in SI cancellation (SIC) techniques have allowed for FD communications on low-power transceivers, such as small-cell base stations (SCBSs) under residual SI (RSI). Consequently, FD technology is considered a key enabler of fifth-generation (5G) and beyond networks.
