Flash Boiling Effect of Ethane Mixed Fuel on Pre-mixed Diesel Combustion

エタン混合燃料による減圧沸騰の効果が 予混合化ディーゼル燃焼に及ぼす影響

A mixed fuel consisting of gaseous fuel and liquid fuel can realize flash-boiling injection even under in-cylinder condition close to top dead center. This study mixed liquefied ethane into gas oil and applied the mixed fuel into diesel engine to offer improved engine performance. The flash boiling effect that enhances spray atomization and evaporation promoted lean mixture formation, and achieved low soot and low NOₓ combustion without EGR while improving thermal efficiency. In addition, the effects of flash boiling were investigated by comparing the combustion characteristics between the ethane mixed fuel with flash boiling and the Shellsol mixed fuel without flash boiling.軽油等の高沸点燃料に,低沸点燃料を混合して低エミッションを実現する燃料設計コンセプトが提案されている.本研究では軽油と液化エタンの混合燃料を用いて,ディーゼル機関における減圧沸騰効果が諸性能に及ぼす影響を確認した.その結果,エタン混合割合によって燃焼制御が可能となり,高効率かつ低NOx 排出が確認できた.
