Extraction of Driver's Gaze Region by Face Direction Estimation Using On-Board Cameras

車載カメラを用いたドライバの顔向き推定による注視領域抽出

The significant problem for active safety system and ADAS (Advanced Driving Assistance System) is how to recognize driver behavior such as where driver look in a scene or what driver aware of their environment. In order to recognize the driver behavior, it is necessary to estimate gaze direction and gaze region in forward environments. In this paper, the authors propose a method that estimate gaze direction and extract driver’s gaze region in forward image using estimated head pose from in-vehicle cameras.ドライバの顔向き推定による注視領域抽出システムを提案する.車載カメラによって撮影されたドライバの顔画像に対しフェイストラッキングを適用し推定した顔向き情報と,車両前方を撮影した画像情報を統合することにより,ドライバが前方カメラ画像中のどの領域を注視しているか抽出を行う.
