Benchmarking in Business Processes of Logistic Systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina

In order to assess their position on the market, companies always have the need to compare themselves with other companies. One of the modern methods of comparing the indicators and improving the business of the company is benchmarking. Benchmarking may be defined as a learning process which ensues from the study and analysis of the positive experiences of others, where such experiences along with the necessary adjustments could be applied with a view of promoting one’s own performance. From the standpoint of applicability benchmarking is a tool which enables the monitoring and improvement of performance, based on the knowledge acquired from the best-practice examples and understanding of the processes underlying the attainment of such successful results. This paper is dedicated to the description of the benchmarking process and the possibility of its implementation in the logistic processes in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Logistic processes and services develop in very variable and dynamic environment with extremely strong competition and strict business operating conditions. In such operating conditions the decision-making process has to be based on concrete and accurate indicators and data. It is possible to obtain the data and information necessary for decision-making through one universal benchmarking analysis.
