Development Trends of High-speed Railways

Due to the high transport speed, capacity, traffic safety and sustainability with regard to the environment, and four major and very important features offered to the customers of transport services and the society, high-speed rail is often referred to as the transport of the future. The paper investigated and analyzed the historical development, current state and the development prospects of these modern transport systems. Due to the high speed, national borders have become a limiting factor so that unified continental high speed railway networks started to be built, that is, railways without technical borders. Since it is a big technological leap, gradually the European and Asian rail networks are being rounded off, and high-speed railways are gradually being profiled into a special traffic branch.
