EVOLUCION DE LOS FLUJOS FERROVIARIOS DE Y HACIA LOS NODOS DE LA REGION SUR-SURESTE DE MEXICO, DATOS 2016

El presente estudio, realizado a solicitud de la Agencia Reguladora del Transporte Ferroviario tuvo como proposito, analizar el volumen de carga transportado por el ferrocarril desde y hacia las regiones sur y sureste del pais, articuladas por las vias ferreas de la costa de Chiapas, del Istmo de Tehuantepec y por las que recorren e integran los estados de Tabasco, Campeche y Yucatan, asignadas oficialmente al Ferrocarril del Istmo de Tehuantepec. La representacion espacial de la matriz origen – destino de la carga ferroviaria total (2016), de la zona integrada por las regiones sur y sureste de Mexico, ofrece un panorama de los productos transportados y sus volumenes; de los nodos que estructuran la distribucion de la carga dentro del area de estudio; del alcance territorial del intercambio ferroviario de estas regiones con el resto del pais; asi como de las funciones que hasta el momento el ferrocarril brinda a la economia de la zona. Por ultimo, a fin de contar con una referencia del volumen potencial de carga del area de estudio, mas alla de los flujos manejados por el ferrocarril, se incorporo al analisis la representacion de los principales intercambios registrados por el autotransporte, parte de los cuales podrian potencialmente ser atraidos por el ferrocarril, si se logran consolidar servicios que consideren la integracion intermodal entre las ciudades del sur-sureste y del centro y norte del pais. Abstract: This study, carried out by request of the Rail Transport Regulatory Agency, aimed to analyze the cargo volumes transported by railroad to and from the southern and southeastern regions of the country, connected by the railways of the coast of Chiapas, the Isthmus of Tehuantepec and by the rail lines crossing and joining the states of Tabasco, Campeche and Yucatan, that are officially assigned to Company of the Railroad of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.The spatial representation of the origin - destination matrix of the total railway load (2016), at the zone integrated by the southern and southeastern regions of Mexico, offers a wide view of the transported products and their volumes; of the nodes that structure the distribution of the load within the study area; of the territorial scope of the railway exchange of these regions with the rest of the country; as well as the functions that, until now, the railway provides to the economy of the area. Finally, to have a reference of the potential cargo volumes at the studied area, beyond the flows handled by the railroad, this analysis incorporated the representation of the main interchanges registered by road transport, to estimate hypothetically, if there are for the railroad, possibilities of competing for cargo and increase, by modifying the rail transport model operation, the volumes reported by this one in the last decade.
