MARKETING U. S. COTTON TO DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN OUTLETS IN 1977/78: PRACTICES AND COSTS

Detailed estimates of the major costs of marketing U.S. cotton during the 1977/78 season are provided. The weighted average cost to assemble and distribute American cotton to all outlets was $42.86 per bale. Costs were also developed for moving cotton from each of the four production regions and from selected marketing trading areas within each region to 10 specific outlets, both domestic and foreign.
