Diesel Fuel Reformation by Piston Compression of Rich Mixture


Diesel fuel reformations have been suggested to extend the operational ranges of premixed diesel combustion. In this research, the diesel fuel is reformatted by the piston compression of rich mixture in the reformation cylinder and the thermal conversion conditions of reformatted gases, hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and methane, were first investigated by the chemistry dynamics simulation (CHEMKIN pro). Based on the calculated results, the diesel engine was operated under the rich mixture conditions. Throughout this research, it was found that the composition of reformatted gas can be estimated by the maximum cylinder temperature.改質気筒で過濃混合気をピストン圧縮により改質し,その改質ガスを出力気筒用の主燃料とすることで,希薄予混合化ディーゼル燃焼の運転領域拡大を図れる可能性がある.本報告では,素反応計算および単気筒エンジンを用いた実験により,水素や一酸化炭素、メタン等の改質ガスの生成要件について詳細な検討を行なった.
