Analysis of Tire/Ice Friction by the Profile Measurement of Sliding Marks on Iced Road Surface


Because of transparency of ice, it is difficult to measure the profile of ice surface by optical method such as laser scanning. The authors propose the method that whitens the ice surface by rapid cooling spray so that stable reflecting laser beam on ice surface leads successful profile measurement. They conducted the full braking test on iced road of indoor tire tester at a temperature around 0℃. And they made a study on relationship between the resultant cross sectional profile of the ice surface damaged by tire treads and resultant frictional characteristics of the tire on the ice. Results shows that the friction of tire on ice has well correlation on cross section of the ice surface damaged by tire treads.氷の摩擦痕の測定において,我々は冷却スプレーを使用して氷の表面を白濁化することによって,レーザー光の反射を安定化して計測可能なレーザー形状測定法を提案する.0℃付近の温度下において,本手法による摩擦痕の測定結果とタイヤ/氷摩擦との関係を考察した.その結果,双方に強い相関があることが明らかになった.
