Development of Electrodeposition Coating with High Throwing Power through Optimization of Base Resin Plasticizer

基体樹脂可塑成分最適化による電着塗料の高つき廻り化の研究

The authors have developed an electrodeposition coating (e-coating) which have high throwing power and can optimize film thickness distribution on body-in-white in order to reduce coating usage. The new e-coating material can control the film thickness on outer panels, while keeping the equal film thickness on inner panels as the conventional e-coating material by plasticizer optimization into main resin backbone. The new e-coating can reduce approximately 11 % of the usage from the conventional one.ボデー用電着塗料の使用量削減を目的に,つき廻り性能の高い電着塗料を開発した.塗料中の基体樹脂可塑成分比を最適化し,内板膜厚を維持しつつ外板膜厚を低減させた.この塗料を採用することにより,1台あたり約11%の塗料使用量削減効果が得られた.
