Effects of Cross Sectional Geometry of Bumper Beam on Energy Absorption in 10km/h Bumper Barrier Collision

10km/h バンパーバリア衝突性能におよぼすバンパービーム断面形状の影響

In RCAR bumper test, the deformation of bumper beam is influenced by bumper engagement. In this test, it is required for bumper beams both to increase energy absorption and to reduce the vehicle weight by designing cross sectional geometries adequately. In this study, the deformation mechanism of bumper beam has been investigated from the view point of the effects of bumper engagement and cross sectional geometries, using numerical analysis. As a result, it is shown that bumper beam with small radius of impact side and wall angle θ<sub>w</sub>>90 degrees absorbs large energy in this test, because buckling of cross section is suppressed by the effect of restraining bending deformation of impact face and wall.RCAR バンパーテストにおいて,バンパービームの変形は導入指標噛み合い量に影響される.本研究では数値計算によりバンパービームの変形挙動に及ぼす噛み合い量と断面形状の影響を検討した.結果,衝突側の稜線部半径が小さく,壁角度が90°以上のバンパービームは座屈が抑制され衝撃吸収性に優れることが判明した.
