AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENTS AND PROJECTIONS TO THE YEAR 2000

The report provides a perspective on automobile technology and assesses the automotive technological options open to Canada. These include standard otto engine, alternate internal combustion engines, external combustion engines, transmission and other power transfer equipment, and novel power trains. The report relates technology options with emissions, economy, materials, implementation fuel availability, safety, socio-economic considerations, etc. This provides a technological base for projecting automotive technology trends to the year 2000.
