THE APPLICATION OF REMOTE SENSING TECHNIQUES TO HIGHWAY ROUTE LOCATION. FEASIBILITY STUDY REPORT

This report presents the results of a study aimed at investigating the application of remote sensing to highway planning. Emphasis is given to the problems of route location for roads in developing countries. The report assesses the current situation in the application of remote sensing techniques to highway planning problems, making a distinction between experimental and practical projects. Future sensor and system development is assessed in the light of the current state of the art. (Author/TRRL)
