URBAN TRAFFIC SAFETY

This is a general guide outlining proper use and installation of road safety and/or traffic control devices. The current urban accident rates for Saskatchewan are outlined. Recommendations are given for potential safety improvement areas such as pavement markings in urban areas, roadside fixed objects, corrective measures for roadside hazards, pedestrian control, signing methods, speed limits and parking facilities. Accepted traffic control measures are outlined and illustrated with diagrams and photographs. Standard signing information is given, as well as warrants for signal installation. (TRRL)
